Hello, I'm Charlie Walker and welcome to my renewable energy web page. I decided to make this web page because I was sick of high energy costs and I wanted to help save energy. I call some local installers, and was blown away when I got the estimates. Most were $8000 to $10000. Way over my budget. I was a bit discouraged, but decided to look into doing it myself. In my initial search I found that there were ALOT of products to choose from. The only problem was the price. They cost too much. My goal was to save money and energy. Not spend it!

After hours of research I did find several DIY guides. Some turned out to be way better than others (more on that later). Some cover wind power. Some cover solar power, and some cover both. I narrowed it down to the BEST three and I reviewed them here for you. I learned that is really not that difficult or costly to start generating your own renewable energy. I really hope this helps you save money and the planet!




Earth4Energy is one of the leading guides to making your own renewable energy. Their easy to use product guide takes you through the various steps to create your own solar and wind power. They also give you information as to where to find the best deals on the materials you're going to need. Not only did their guide come with detailed instructions and helpful, but they also come with excelled support and when I had some minor technical questions they came with solutions in no time at all!

I really liked their guide to building solar powered and wind powered energy sources because it was cost effective and I didn't end up spending much money and it was a great deal for the information and resources that was given. Apparently, I'm not the only satisfied customer either, their site offers many testimonials to the quality of the product they offer and the support they provide with their product as well. The guide was easy to understand and simple enough that I didn't need help from anyone else.

All said and done, after all my research, Earth4Energy provided me with the best and most cost effective plans around. I have no complaints and would highly recommend this product to friends and family.




While Make Power At Home came in second place for me as far as guide quality and overall usefulness goes, it was a close call. Make Power At Home discussed the same useful techniques as Earth4Energy and even offered a money back guarantee which was reassuring. Make Power At Home like Earth4Energy provided resources to help build both solar power as well as wind power and was also very supportive, however their descriptions weren't quite as detailed and didn't help quite as much as Earth4Energy but overall it wasn't too bad.

Make Power At Home was the most expensive of the three products, which wasn't something I was particularly happy about, especially because I felt Earth4Energy gave better instructions and was more support. However, Make Power At Home is still a decent guide and will defiantly help you ‘Make Power at Home’. I just preferred E4E for its simplicity and great resources.




The third guide I reviewed was DIY Home Solar Power. I was pretty impressed with this guide overall. Their guide only covers solar power. If that is all you are interested in then this might be the guide for you. My thought on this is, why not at least read up on wind power? This guide is only a bit cheaper that the others, but you get so much more with E4E.

The support at DIY Home Solar Power seems highly competent and their guide is high quality. If you aren't too worried wind power, DIY Home Solar Power may be right for you. But if you're looking for the most bang for the buck, Earth4Energy and Make Power At Home are both much better resources to use...
